What are trying our physical Europeans in Geneva?

The particle accelerator will send the first beam of protons to the fateful September 10 2008 that, along the 27 km of The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), will
recreate the conditions of the Big Bang, according to Einstein's relativity: it will explore The secret of great explosion that generated our universe, time and space that we know. What physicists seek in this surprising and very expensive experiment? The secrets of matter, time and space, but also principles of the birth of the
Universe. The benefits could be enormous for everyone, even this research will change the
destiny of our children and grandchildren. For this glorious future we have to risk our present, in the end nothing of a black
hole? What bad end of all our desires, our ambitions, hopes, fears and anxieties. I'm not an expert, but I have the conviction that after September 10 the world will
not end, nor have answers that will enable us to have clean energy cheap, by nuclear fusion, or many other beautiful things as new engines for space shuttles. It looks like the first or most, and our fears will shift to traditional risks: terrorism, pollution, nuclear, bacteriological and chemical.
Instead we see that the nerves are a flower of skin for everyone. Once such an experiment would have attracted the attention of many profane, boys, boys, but also many adults have heard the theories of physicists, wonderful for their statements about blacks holes, the Big Bang, on the relativity of Einstein. Many have daydreams about space travel, movies and books of fiction had a surge in sales. Now we're learning culture wizard, not a triumphant obscurantist mindset, but for serious environmental damage and pollution fears, to the greenhouse effect, for the disasters that are already for a world made ugliest by poor exploitation of technology.
